o.0 I take it we do have a real idiot on our hands...Meh, w/e I suppose we'll just do the same thing with your posts as we do with the spambot -_-"...If I had to say anything, there are only three-four people that regularly check this place on a day to day basis, and maybe about another four-five people that check every so often...I'm sorry to say that all of us are so used to not giving a shit that apart from this post, you probably aren't going to have anyone talk to you or acknowledge your existence. That being said, feel free to waste your time here because while everyone else may just not pay attention, I like to think about how the hell anyone with a brain could feel the need to waste their own time copy-pasting shit when there are games to be played, visual novels to be read, anime to be watched, and a vast host of things on the internet that can be done. Instead, you have chosen to stay here, on the forum with ten people who don't really give a shit about spam in the first place, who are only here to attempt porting over visual novels for anyone who wants them (or to satisfy themselves). Suffice to say, I am laughing my ass off at you for wasting precious time of your insignificant life spamming a forum such as this one. And now I end my post with the fact that I don't really care at the moment because I'm going back to watch Angel Beats! (this is an amusing anime btw, recommending now xD).
lol..
Angel Beats! is a god tier anime. What happened a the end of last episode was a huge surprise.
Well, since we now have a pointless thread, I'm going to continuously bump this so that it remains at the top thread (so all of the spam can end up here rather than all over the other threads).
Angel Beats! is awesome xD (but I haven't finished, I'm at episode 11 or something). I dunno who I support more, Kanade, Yui, or Yurippe. So awesome xD.
Two episodes left, 11 was subbed today.
To be honest, I can't really see how it's going to end in two episodes unless it's suddenly decided that the 'big bad guy' now wins.
I just watched 11. It's been one hell of a roller-coaster, and all of it great. However, my favorite part is when they're trying to discredit Angel in the 5th episode. Fwooooosh, rocket chair!!
I was really laughing out loud for those.
Lol, you are spoiling it for those that haven't seen that episode yet >=D, but hell yes that was amusing (especially the last one xD).
I'm just hoping that there will be support for a second season.
Who cares about spoiling? If somebody hasn't watched it yet, that little comment will for sure get them to watch. And if they didn't have any intent to watch the series in the first place, first shame on them, second WATCH IT.
Depending on how they wrap it up, it might not need a true second series (like a direct continuation of the story). However, I'm looking forward to something more. It's too interesting and popular to just end.
You made me want to watch that alll over again. The episode was sad(slightly) but made a lot happier with the chairs.
I must say that I really want a S2 as well, but there's no way that it can be with Otonashi. It's obvious that he'll go after everybody else goes.
Whatever, as long as there's a second season of it I'll be happy... even if it's not a direct continuation.
Also, Yuri probably disappears next episode. Finally getting what she deserves.
Lol, I'm wondering if 'Christ' is going to disappear (and how for that matter xD). At the moment I'm watching Gurren Lagann (I think I've put off seeing this series for long enough).
Posting here, so the Narcissu thread doesn't get hit.
BLAHBLAHBLAHBLAH
So yeah... bump this to keep other things from getting hit, and going to take a nap. I'm tired and delirious and it's showing in how I type.
huh, so we're all watching the same thing? never would have guessed.
Angel Beats is pretty good, but fav ep has to be ep3. Although that may be because im a major music fan. which alse means I've watched/watching both seasons of K-on...dear god its terrible, but you can't stop!
Ah, yeah, I really liked the more music-themed episodes too. Haven't watched K-on though. I've been trying to steer clear as I've heard it was just moe-blob with no meaning behind it.
Personally, I hate that and I can't understand why you'd like it.
Each to their own, I guess.
I haven't seen K-On!...though I might try a couple episodes one day just to see what it's like. I like Working!! though xD...and I need to watch Lucky Star sooner or later.
Gurren Lagann isn't that bad, although I hate the citizens of the city. They all seem like such jerks.
>>21
The city at the beginning of Gurren Lagann only lasts a few episodes. To half-quote the wiki page that was quoting somebody else, the scope of the story keeps increasing throughout the entire series.
I enjoy Working!! The personality quirks keep it fresh.
And Lucky Star was also good. I could totally relate to a lot of what Konata did, and also the exchange student that I don't remember the name of. When she was listing off bands she knew, they were all anime-related in some way. Same for me. I guess that might be sad, but I don't like much English stuff, probably because I understand the lyrics and most I hate.
I finished Gurren Lagann xD...Dam that was some crazy stuff. I dunno what I should watch next. I don't really want to watch Lucky Star or K-On! yet, but its been a while since I've been keeping track of anime releases so I dunno what is awesome anymore (the older series I know though xD). I can't remember where I left off on Working!! (I'm trying to find out right now). Somehow I find the music from it addicting though.
If anyone has some really great recommendations...
if you like rock music, and can put up with some engrish songs, give BECK a go. the music's great.
I guess it depends on what you want. Key's stuffs all the same, so if you like Angel beats Clannad/Air etc would be up your alley.
Haibane Renmei was an awesome drama-esque one as well.
Hmmm... engrish might be ok. I think I've seen stuff about BECK, but I've never actually watched it.
Yeah, I have lots of Clannad/Air/Kanon music, original and piano versions. I love almost all of their stuff.
Not heard anything about Haibane Renmei other than the name. I'll give it a look sometime.
Bump. Been a long time since I've typed that.
Now for something completely different.
I've modified the aac decoder of the VNDS program to take 44100hz sound effects instead of 22050 ones. That was annoying me. On a related note, I'd like to make it so it takes stereo instead of mono too, but that might have to come another time. Even better would be if VNDS would take just about any normal file and handle it, but oh well.
This came about because of my sound effect problems. The bundled vnds tool doesn't do squat on my computer, mediacoder craps out whenever I try to convert to aac at 22050 and mono, and Super(c) hates outputting small files.
I now hate sound more than image editing.
I'd rather Clannad didn't get hit with porn.
Monsters.
Well, if you use your aac decoder, you might want to make sure you keep everyone else up to date xD (it would be bad to have to convert your files all the time just because you use your custom version)
>>31
What the hell have you led me on? What IS all that?
>>30
Yeah, right now I'm still using the basic vnds 1.4.9. However, if I need to in the end (which I think I'll find a way around it), I can upload the newer version specifically for my version.
Or, I could actually make a real update to the program that everyone would want to use. As far as I can tell, there's no reason sound effects are required to be a certain frequency. So if I made it where it could figure out the frequency itself...
>>32
An extensive story spanning space and time with really really cool music to go with.
Or we could just say it's just a pumpkin.
Yay, the thread is working for its intended purpose!
Lol, its a kind of lame purpose though...I suppose the only redeeming part is that with this thread we can talk about whatever the hell we want (just finished Akikan now...I've already seen Clannad, Kanon, and Air...)
Akikan sounds... weird to say the least.
Series I would recommend? Higurashi/Umineko (VNs are superior though), Blood+, Black Lagoon, Blue Submarine, Chrno Crusade (manga superior), Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, .hack (along with the games, though I know the whole series isn't for everyone), ef, Elfen Lied, Ergo Proxy, Eureka 7, Fantastic Children, Fate-stay night (VN superior), Fooly Cooly, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Full Metal Panic, Ghost in the Shell (everything), Interlude, Kyouran Kazoku Nikki, Last Exile, Lucky Star, Mahoromatic, Haruhi, Nodame Cantabile, Now and Then-Here and There, Ouran High School Host Club, Outlaw Star, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Shakugan no Shana, Tsukihimi (VN Superior), Banner/Crest of the Stars, To Aru Majutsu no Index, Toradora, Toshokan Sensou, Trigun, Tsubasa Chronicle, Utawarerumono (VN superior), Wolf and Spice, Zegapain, Zero no Tsukaima, Zettai Karen Children (manga superior).
That's a small sampling of what I've watched over the years. I'm sure you've watched some of them, and I'm not sure what your tastes are, but this list covers a wide range of stuff.
Oh, Cross Game. I generally don't like sports-based stuff, but if you watch the first episode, damn that is a hook.
+1 for about all of them, couldn't get into Index though, and Oran high never clicked with me for some reason. After Clannad and Lucky star, I'd mostly had enough of the high-school slice-of-life/comedy genres
Well, I started with Oran a pretty long time ago, before I'd watched the others. But I don't get tired of quirky stuff. Normal yes, quirky no.
Blah.
I liked Ouran xD. I actually like a variety of genres (although I hold off on watching the really popular stuff because I just don't feel like watching them at the moment). I never knew Kyouran Kazoku Nikki had an anime (read the manga and that was funny xD).
I seem to tend towards slice-of-life, romance, action, and comedy. I also like watching most things with tsunderes (they are so awesome xD).
I like pretty much everything except extremely boring slice-of-life and most sports-centric series. So I have a wide, wide hit base and it shows in the number of completely different titles I've watched.
Yandere > Tsundere
If she doesn't have the ability to snap and kill you, she's not worth the effort ^^
and bump back to the top ^^
bump bump
Yandere are scary...
Lol, I don't know enough yanderes (the ones I do know, I like xD, especially Mirai Nikki's Yuno).
So, has anybody been keeping up with E3?
>>53
nintendo has finally made me not regret buying a wii.
fucking donkey kong country YEAH
also kirby
Oh god yes, Kirby. I've been waiting for a real console game for a while.
I'm warily optimistic of the 1:1 sword action in the new Zelda too. If it lives up to what it could be, that'll be a must-play for everyone. And a real reason to get the motionplus.
>that'll be a must-play for everyone
saying this about anything in general is stupid.
It's Zelda, and possibly will have 1:1 controls for the sword.
Assuming it lives up to expectations, I would most definitely consider it a must-play for everyone. That doesn't mean you must-love it or that it's a must-beat titles. But definitely play.
bump
>>57
I do not particuarly like waving my arms(or any other body part (ok I would totally play a penis waggling game (oh god I hope it isn`t a multiplayer game))) around to play games.
plus I really just don`t like the series that much (NES one was pretty fun though).
>>58
the last post on the main page is from almost a month ago, why the fuck does this need a bump?
>>59
If you haven't been keeping up, we have a spam-bot hitting the forum. Interestingly, it only posts in the top thread. So, we created a spam-catching thread.
Not sure what that... last post on the main page thing is?
...I should of posted that after I posted in the Narcissu thread....
Ohhh, you got that one pretty fast mister moderator!
Bump, no porn on the clannad thread.
pump to keep spam away...?
Yeah, spam != good.
blah
scapegoat
argh
bumping this to top.
possibly fixed the audio encoder thing
bump
blah
problem with N1 stated @ narcissu thread, bump
answer, bump
thanks for reply, bump
blah
Apparently this thread really does come in handy xD (although someone missed a bump lol).
So anyone have anything else to talk about?
I rewatched Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 and Ichigo 100% and I believe Manaka is a complete idiot (I would totally choose Satsuki because she is awesome xD)
Yeah, it does. At least as far as the spam is concerned. It's almost like an announcement thread too. If someone mentions one of the other threads up here, there's a good chance it was changed below.
3DS owns. The end.
#use constant SPAM_TRAP => 0; # Enable the spam trap (empty, hidden form fields that spam bots usually fill out) (0:no, 1:yes)
I really should have lookedi n the config in the first place.
Oh, does that work?
Merci monsieur =)
You're welcome.
Do my eyes deceive me, or do we actually have a verification thing xD. I wonder if it is going to work...
Yes, verification. That's cool.
So wait, who are you?
Wouldn't he be...hm...I forgot who it was that bothered Jake for some powers...Was it Boinciel? Or maybe it was someone else.
Wait, so you are Jake?
What's the problem? The only thing I notice is that the captcha doesn't change until you use it, no matter how many times you refresh the page. Is that the problem?
>>96
I know that it didnt change, its just after I posted it didnt change and would say I had the wrong captcha.
clearing cookies fixed it.
>>97
I'm posting on the newest non-beta firefox, and I've not had that problem. It changes correctly whenever I post. Do you know why it's different for you?
Anyway, it seems to have stopped the spam for now. And that's cool.
>>98
because I use a weird as shit browser (http://uzbl.org) and wrote the cookie handling myself(http://github.com/jakeprobst/uzblstuff).
its entirely my fault and I need to figure out why it is doing it.
>>100
not sure whether that is actual awe or sarcasm.
>>101
That's actual awe. Pretty amazing that you're working on that. Just like with all the stuff on your website.
I read the entire Ichigo 100% manga as it was being fan translated some years ago. Have to agrre with you, Manaka is an idiot. I don't think any real person would be stupid enough to continue persuing after a girl when a totally hot girl is so blatanty persuing after him, referring to Satsuki. Poor Satsuki, I really felt badly for her, stupid Manaka.
You guys can keep your Kirby and Zelda games. 3DS + DOA = 3D Bounce for the win!
Heh, somebody will make it, assuming the system gets hacked.
Ohhhh, I wonder what a VN3DS would be like?
I've read Ichigo 100%, but it's been so long I don't remember names. I just remember the whole situation with everyone felt off to me. Not sure why.
Anybody keeping up with the Steam summer sales? Lots of good stuff. RE5 for $12.50, Ghostbusters $4, GTAIV EFLC $15. That's not counting all the regular sales throughout the store.
>Ohhhh, I wonder what a VN3DS would be like?
I have mentioned on the irc channel that I will actually be interested in making that.
also, not shit hardware = oh man I can ACUALLY DECODE MP3s IN A SANE MANNER.
MP3? Why not just go straight to .ogg so we can have properly looping music?
That would be really nice. Or maybe just let people choose what they want to use. I assume that's the end goal.
>>106
how would ogg make a difference in any way(but yea ogg would possibly be there is takes considerably more power to decode than mp3 though).
>>108
I think .ogg has the ability to add in repeat markers so that the song naturally repeats by itself without having to restart the song, adding in the unnatural and obvious repeat quiet.
Completely off the rails of the current topic, but I just finished watching the last episode of Angel Beats!...it was so friken sad TT-TT. If it weren't for the fact that I never seem to cry when watching an anime (otherwise I can't read the subtitles obviously), I totally would have cried (the ending was spectacular though). Too bad that means that there probably won't be a sequel.
I really need to watch it, but I won't get to until tomorrow. I'm too tired now.
It's interesting, but what you just said mirrored a little of the irc conversation that happened. I guess that's natural, since lots of us were all watching it.
>>109
pretty sure that would have to be coded in manually anyway, just I would have the convenience of it being in the tags or something.
Does that mean you could conceivably used with any music file, or is it still something ogg-specific?
When the Blu-Ray for E13 is released, it'll have E14 on it.
Too bad it won't be released until around December.
Well, I watched E13 finally. I could conceivably see another season, only with a vastly different story. It was one hell of an ending though. I didn't expect that last twist. What a shock.
Anyway, back to Narcissu.
I mean have a sort of loop start/end flag of some kind to specify what part to loop.
I recall when I was looking at the gstreamer docs it had a function to set what part to loop when it was done...
>>118
That's what I was asking, is it possible to do that with any music file? I'm not up on much to do with media-based coding, so I don't know much about this stuff.
well yeah.
its not like theres anything stopping you from just seeking to a loop point or something.
So you can embed a loop point in any audio file? Then the only thing ogg has going for it is it also puts it in the tags?
>>121
its not embedded its just specifying somewhere (music file.mp3 33 or putting a special id3 tag(looppoint=33), etc). it would still have to be done 'manually'.
I am just saying I doubt ogg specially does this(this is your cue to link stuff to prove me otherwise).
I guess it isn't special... I'm not getting anything anywhere that backs up my old assumption. Weird, because I distinctly remember it being part of something. I must have been wrong.
Oh well, nice to know it would be fairly easy to implement in most anything, though it looks like mp3s don't work well for seamless looping.
Actually, maybe that was what I was remember wrong. The fact that mp3s don't like repeating seamlessly while ogg vorbis (it was vorbis I remember as looping well) does.
Te gusto mucho grande pene
... Why Spanish?
Wow, the irony. My verification word to type in for
>>126
was "luche". When I typed that in on google, guess what the first hit was?
Lol, I just noticed that Jake (or someone else...) updated the digital-haze vnds page to have anoNL's version 1.4.9
>>127
This must be some form of karma xD.
>>129
Yeah, I saw that too a little while ago.
Karma... I don't want that kind of karma.
