I started porting Kagetsu Tohya, as the title says.
This may be the official production thread from here on.

Sorry, I need a bit more time to figure out in which way you could help. Todays progress was, uhm, not so... but general progress is performing well.
Maybe I will get more stuff done tomorrow and encounter things which I could easily delegate.
Thanks for offering halp, though.
Ah, and one more thing,
if you want to help out, you could start porting another game. This would help me alot, because of the motivation effect.
...since I tend to get a bad conscience if someone is working hard to support me while I'm slacking off.
Umm, back on topic with KT, this is totally balls-to-the-wall awesome. Seriously, if you complete this, you are the goddamn man.

Hmm...
I am porting a short story by Nasu, "notes."
Art is 12% done, and scripting is easy.
Hope that motivates you.
OP, again.
I really would appreciate if anonymous could help out with "Tea Society of a Witch" porting project.
Ok, lets try to keep ourselves pushing each other :)
What do you mean by art? Could I help out with automatic graphics convertion?
>>7
hmm...
CGs is what's the artist doing at the time.
BGs is easily found at google.
You can help, if you like.

You're going to have problems on the main story and the "Crimson Moon" sidestory. The main story because of the complexity of the script, the sidestory since there's red and blue words on it and an image which sidescrolls.
But the other ones are easier. Maybe port them first.
I'm still alive, but busy.
Tell me when you will be back, 23.
Of course I'm alive. Anyway, I like what you've done so far.
Looking forward to seeing your results, anon.
I find a GBA port of Tsukihime and Kagetsu Tohya in japenese, only need a translation
Tsukihime:http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3RKC2LHG
Kagetsu Tohya:I'm guessing that he's hoping that once translated it could be played on a GBA emulator? (can one of those work on a ds?)
They can only be played on a DS if you got a slot-2 memory expander(or w/e it's called)
>>15
The only thing that can emulate GBA on the DS is the iPlayer. I read that somewhere o.0
blackcat are u a guy? please answer me.
>>18
lol what
why do you care? this isn't a matchmaking forum.
sorry but im bad in english
i post the gba port because the title say"Kagetsu Tohya: main story, side stories and everthing - port", and because you can play it with the slot-2 card, i think is more easy translate an already port game than port it whole
another adult VN for the gba:
suika, hajimete no orusoban and kisuato
suika, hajimete no orusoban and kisuato
>>i think is more easy translate an already port game than port it whole
spoiler: kagetsu tohya is already translated to english. it just needs to be ported to vnds.
>>22
that and porting to vnds is easy, just time consuming. much easier than learning how to hack a gba rom, change the font to english, expand the text length to fit the english text over moonspeak and so on.

You've never seen a flowchart for Kagetsu, have you?
I'd rather make a completely new visual novel for onscripter than port Kagetsu to vnds and test to see if everything works.
Does someone know it this project is dropped?
>>25
I'm guessing it is, since there's been no news for 4 months. Kagetsu Tohya is a bit daunting to port. I started looking into it yesterday, but it's a fairly daunting task.
I guess I'll start with something more straightforward first.
Wow, kinda sucks that this is dead - I was really looking forward to this...
what bout this project?had it a dead end?
There's another Kagetsu Tohya thread that I've been posting to regarding the status of porting Ten Nights of Dream. No idea if anybody is working on the main story. I'd have to assume not, if there hasn't been any word in two years.
It's a shame, but...I can't blame people for it. Kagetsu Tohya is a nightmare of convoluded choicepoints. I love Tsukihime, but I admit I've no interest in even playing through the Kagemonster again after the first time, much less trying to sort it out well enough to port it. Maybe somebody will come up with an automatic converter at some point like the ones anonl makes, but...I have no idea how to do that, heh.
In other news...does anybody know how to get the verification code to update on this board? For me, the thing changes only maybe once or twice a week. Meaning that I can only post here, maybe...once or twice a week. If I try to post with the previous code there it tells me "wrong verification code entered". So far, the only way I have found to get it to update is to delete my entire broswing history :(
Update time.
So everybody knows, I have finally gotten somewhere porting Ten Nights of Dream. Basically everything except for the most tedious part, writing the script, has been done. I've run a test and the images/sounds appear to be working fine on my device. The BGM plays, too.
As I expected, the x coordinates are proving to be a real pain. That's probably the biggest hurdle -- trying to figure out some sort of standard number to place sprites in the left, center, and right positions. My goal is to come up with a standard and then use that at all times, mostly because I don't want to put my device through constant trial-and-error copying of script files. Hopefully once a standard is established it will work for most every sprite (ones that have arms or other parts sticking way out here and there might still be a bit off, though).
Also having some issues with the interpreter hesitating for a split second before replacing a sprite or BG image on the screen It's just barely long enough to be slightly noticed. Not sure what to do with that issue, since the script is being written the same way I did my last port, and there were no problems there.
Well, here we are. I made good progress today but it's going way slower than I hoped because of all the trial and error, so I can't promise a date or anything like that. But at least it's finally being worked on, right?
Just so everybody knows -- initially I am working to get this ported to VNDS android. The reason for that is porting it to DS actually takes a bit more work (all music/sounds will have to be converted, and all images will have to be reduced in resolution). So my goal is to finish a complete port for android first, and then get down to the DS.
Wish me luck :)
Definitely looking forward to this :-)! Let me know if you need any help.
